Posted by Zura on September 2, 2009

Back to the hottest long lasting topic, making money. And now we’ve come to such modern era which enable us to make money online. I’m sure most of you knew how to make it. Actually we don’t have to  had a skill around IT to make money, even we just have to know a little. The most important thing to make money online is, Desire! If we have desire, than we’ll have pretension to learn and explore the Internet. Like I do… :D

Mmm, but we still can making money offline, ladies. You can please refer to this “5 easy ways to make money even if you’re unemployed” article. It’s a good reference. Others, you can try these following additional tips :

  • Let’s search for a freelance job

Yeah, sometimes freelance job would be nice. Depend on what kind of job you’re applying or taking of. You contact your local newspaper to see if they pay for freelance reporting. Offer to cover local events, such as sporting events, for a fee. Otherwise you can try freelance job such as translator (if you think you are good on translating), waitress,  part time journalist, etc.

  • Offer to baby sit, elder sit, or house sit for your neighborhood. Distribute fliers to advertise your availability.
  • Offer to your friends, neighbors, fellow church-goers, etc. your services in auctioning stuff they want to sell on eBay or Craiglist. (if you want to try an online job)

Some people are still unsure about how to sell things online and are uncomfortable with auction sites like eBay. You can step in, offer to do it for them, for a portion of the profits

  • Bake cookies and/or pastries and sell at area office buildings
  • Be a Part Time Teacher.

If you know something that other people want to know, then maybe you could teach at a local community college or offer public seminars – even teleconference, or maybe you could teach children, I can say that this is a perfect part time job. Not part time maybe. You are  just about to spend a couple hours a day (you are free to arrange the schedule). I’m trying this job too eventhough I’m not an unemployment. I do teaching children after hour (for about 7 pm untiil 8.30 pm, monday to friday).

  • Start a community online newsletter.

You’ll need to spend some money and invest some time up-front, but once you get 1,000 or more subscribers in your neighorhood or residential area, you could then sell advertising to local businesses. And an email newsletter is cheap to produce. You just need a good autoresponder service.

Okay, may above tips helps. :tv:

Have a nice day!

Assessment Centre? Why Not!

Posted by Zura on April 28, 2009

Hi, All… How are your going on today?

employees12693652_std

I’ve just landed at a great site about Human Resources consultant. Even though I’m not a HRD staff, but I have desire to learn everything about it. Because of course it has relevancy to my job as admin staff. :D

Do you have ever attended an assessment centre held by your office management? How did you prepare for it? And the result? Actually, I never attend such test, but sometimes I want to try it to measure how professional I am. If I haven’t mistake, my office management’s currently plan to hold it (but it’s implemented for all employess). Well I think it’s time to learn what assessment centre was and what will be test in me? Well, I’ve just discovered what’s the definition of Assessment Centre :

A method for assessing aptitude and performance; applied to a group of participants by trained assessors using various aptitude diagnostic processes in order to obtain information about applicants’ abilities or development potential.

Typically, assessment centres include a number of these elements:

  • Social/informal events - where you could meet a variety of people, including other candidates, the selectors, recent graduates and senior management. This is presented as an opportunity for you to find out about the organisation and to ask questions in a more casual setting. These events may appear informal and not part of the true assessment procedure but you should behave in a way that reflects well on you. You should certainly avoid any excesses of alcohol, even if representatives from the employer encourage you.

  • Information sessions - which provide more details about the organisation and the roles available. Listen carefully, as the information provided is likely to be more up to date than your previous research. If you are unclear about anything, ask. It is useful to have a question prepared for these sessions but make sure that the answer has not already been covered. Asking inappropriate questions just to get noticed will not impress the selectors.

  • Tests and exercises - designed to reveal your potential. Selectors at assessment centres measure you against a set of competencies and each exercise is designed to assess one or more of these areas. Don’t worry if you think you have performed badly at any stage; it is likely that you will have the chance to compensate later on.

You can use this reference for keep your assessment running as you want (written by: Andin Adiyasari, Consultanthr.com) : panduan-sukses-assessment-centre-oleh-andin-andiyasari (Language : Bahasa Indonesia), I think it is a good reference for you who will attend an assessment centre by your office. Perhaps it helps. :)

Have a nice day… :)

job-market1

Despite the ups and downs in the global economic scenario the job market always has some openings.Whether you are a part of an organization or looking for a new job it is very important for you to prove yourself as a potential employee. Only then a company will fear to loose you. It is very important these days when everybody is worried about job security.

Find Out New Options

You can grow yourself being in the same organization as well as joining a new one. Find out the growing departments in our present company. Locate the companies where jobs matching your skill are popping up. Also try to find out which industries are offering the maximum job exposure. You can look for websites that offer free job search strategies as well as tips. In fact often these sites also offer salary calculator which will enable you to know what you deserve.

If you are interested in a new industry talk to the people who are already a part of that industry. It will help you to understand whether you are at all fit for that industry or not. You can also go for online job search. Searching on the web is also a good option for gathering information and current news.

Do you want to stick to your present employer or find a job and explore the new venues? In both the cases you should improve yourself so that your current employer feels that retaining you is worth and your new employer can see you as an asset for his company. You know your work well. However it is always better to know more than what is needed. Learn the responsibilities of other employees so that you can help them when needed. Not only your boss but your colleagues will appreciate you as well.

Take Initiatives

Each and every employee is expected to meet their deadlines. So finishing your work on time will not help you to stand out. You should complete your work before time and ask for new projects. In fact you can suggest new projects. If you specialize in some area of working share your knowledge. Include your boss and superiors in a plan that you have for the progress of the company.

Build an Image

Every human being is special in their own way and it is also true for you. You master a skill that is needed to perform your job. Find out what the skill is and make yourself an expert. This expertise will help you to build a reputation reaching beyond your office space. Don’t be afraid to let others know about it. After all branding yourself is necessary to draw the attention of your employer.

Don’t Hesitate to Ask for Hike

When you know that you are an asset for the company, don’t hesitate to ask for the salary you deserve. Don’t state that right away. Let your boss make the offer at first. If you are not satisfied with it then say what you feel and always ask for more because the boss is sure to bring it down to what you exactly deserve.

Be Flexible

If you want your employer to see you as an important employee make yourself irreplaceable. Be flexible and accessible all the time, willing to relocate yourself, dress nicely and above all be helpful.

Follow these simple tips and you will never need to go for a job search. ;)
