Is it possible to know someone too well?

With my writing desire like this, I’m concern to be able to write a post a day. Maybe I should go for Post A Week Challenge one. But it doesn’t matter, though. I’ve tried at least!

So, today I’d like to take challenge topic #189 “Is it possible to know someone too well?”

My answer, yes it is!

Since we are talking about someone, then my shot is my mother. This bond is to strong with her. She knows me too well. It’s so hard to hide something from her. It’s like, whenever I feel happy or sad or disappointed, or I have a problem, she always knew how to make me talk about it. Even though she’s not very good at giving advice, trust me, but I feel like the weigh on my shoulder is kind of lifted as I talk to her. At least I have a few options about things.

And vice versa, I knew my mom too well too. She’s kind of exaggerated person who always think overly over something. If she had a problem, she will cry a lot about it. Different with me, I will never think about a problem for more than one day. If it is too hard for me, I’ll cry, otherwise, forget it. There is nothing to be worried about. Just accept that it is my fate, go with it, and do something to make me feel better to through it. Life is simple, isn’t it?

Discussion: Does God Exist?

I present this post especially for my friend PiP whom commented on my previous article titled “Does God Exist?. Despite write it in an insufficient reply comment form, so I think it’s worth a shot for one article.

So, my friend asked me below questions:

1. Who is God?
2. Is there only one God?

I’ll try to explain it myself, quoted verses of Al-Qur’an and some copies from another source to make better effect (because my English is not very good), so here we go:

1. Who is God?

God is the Creator of the whole Universe, the sky, the earth, and whatever in between them, including me and you. He is The One who gives us breath, brain, heart… He makes us to be able to see the beauty of the world, creates everything in such harmony. Feed in some convenient ways. He is The One who gives us life and only for Him, we will be returned and to be responsible for every deeds we’ve done in this world. Nothing happened without it being written in Lauhul Mahfudz long time before this whole Universe’s created. Even it’s already writing in there that this time I’ll be writing this post. There is NO GOD to be worshiped but Allah because:

Say: All is The One (The Self-Sufficient Master); Whom all creatures need; He begets not, nor was He begotten; and there is non co-equal or comparable unto Him. (Qur’an 113:1-4)

“It is He who sends down water from the sky.  From it you drink and from it come the shrubs among which you graze your herds.  And by it He makes crops grow for you and olives and dates and grapes and fruit of every kind. Therein is certainly a sign in that for people who reflect.  He has made the night and the day subservient to you, and the sun, the moon and the stars, all subject to His command.  Therein are certainly signs in that for people who use their intellect.  And also, the things of varying colors He has created for you in the earth.  There is certainly a sign in that for people who pay heed.  It is He who made the sea subservient to you so that you can eat fresh flesh from it and bring out from it ornaments to wear.  And you see the ships cleaving through it so that you can seek His bounty, and so that perhaps you may show thanks.  He cast firmly embedded mountains on the earth so it would not move under you, and rivers, pathways, and landmarks so that perhaps you might be guided.  And they are guided by the stars.  Is He Who creates like him who does not create?  O will you not pay heed?”(Quran 16:10-17)

2. Is there only one God?

Yup, absolutely. How come if there are so many gods that can make so many decisions to the whole system of the Universe? I think it would be such a mess with such conflict of interest between gods. He has no son, daughter, mother, father, or whatever it is. He is no a Men nor Women. He is The Eternal, the First and the Last. He is no alike to His creatures. He is so far away above all. He sent His Messengers from time to time (from Adam, till Jesus and Muhammad) to remind people about the purpose of their creation, and to introduce them to the Real God, Allah.

In life’s most joyous moments or darkest hours, a person’s most instinctive reaction is to reach out for a connection to some sort of Supreme Being, to God. Even those who would consider themselves atheists or non-believers have at some stage in their lives experienced that innate sense of being part of a grand plan.

The religion of Islam is based on one core belief, that there is One God. He alone is the Sustainer and Creator of the Universe. He is without partners, children, or associates. He is the Most Merciful, the Most Wise, and the Most Just. He is the all Hearer, all Seer, and the All Knowing. He is the First, He is the Last.

It is comforting to think that our trials, tribulations, and triumphs in this life are not random acts of a cruel unorganized universe. Belief in God, belief in One God, the Creator, and Sustainer of all that exists is a fundamental right. Knowing with certainty that our existence is part of a well-ordered world and that life is unfolding as it should is a concept that brings serenity and peace.

Islam is a religion that looks at life and says this world is but a transient place and our reason for being is to worship God. Sounds simple doesn’t it? God is One, acknowledge this and

Does God Exist?

A man went to a barbershop to have his hair and his beard cut as always. He started to have a good conversation with the barber who attended him. They talked about so many things on various subjects.

Suddenly, they touched the subject of God. The barber said: “Look man, I don’t believe that God exists as you say so.”

“Why do you say that?” Asked the client

Well, it’s so easy; you just have to go out in the street to realize that God does not exist. Oh, tell me, if God existed, would there be so many sick people? Would there be abandoned children? If God existed, there would be neither suffering nor pain. “I can’t think of a God who permits all of these things.” The client stopped for a moment thinking but he didn’t want to respond so as to prevent an argument.

The barber finished his job and the client went out of the shop. Just after he left the barbershop, he saw a man in the street with a long hair and beard (it seems that it had been a long time since he had his cut and he looked so untidy). Then the client again entered the barbershop and he said to the barber: know what? Barbers do not exist.

“How come they don’t exist?” asked the barber. “Well I am here and I am a barber.”

“No!” – The client exclaimed. “They don’t exist because if they did there would be no people with long hair and beard like that man who walks in the street.”

“Ah, barbers do exist, what happens is that people do not come to me.”

“Exactly!” – Affirmed the client. “That’s the point. God does exist, what happens is people don’t go to Him and do not look for Him that’s why there’s so much pain and suffering in the world.”
